They will have the first of their special summer programs on Wednesday, June 27 at 3:30 p.m. It will be an animal program. The summer reading program ends each year with a professional puppet show, but they haven't announced the date yet.
The toddler and preschool storytime will continue all summer long on Tuesdays at 10:15. At the helm will be the wonderful Ms. Lois, the children's librarian at the Pomona Library.

Saturday, June 16, 2007 will be the "Pomona Valley Family Juneteenth celebration" at Ganesha Park (1575 N. White Avenue) with free admission from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. More information is at juneteenthamerica.us or 621-9707. The event includes bbq, as well as gospel, jazz, and r&B music. They'll be art, vendors, and the black porsche club car show.

Next Saturday, July 14, 2007, Ganesha Park will kick off the Summer Blockbuster Concert Series with grammy winner Poncho Sanchez and his Latin Jazz Band at 7 p.m. The opening act, the Heat, will perform at 5 p.m.

Friday, June 22, 2007 will be "Summer Blast" at the Ganesha Park Pool from 1 to 5 p.m. This is described as a free pool party that includes swimming, water fun, food, games and prizes.

All summer long there will be swim lessons offered at The Ganesha pool, available in two week long sessions. Call 620-2321 for more information. Swim lesson registration is at Ganesha park on Sunday, June 24 at 9 a.m. Each session is$35 and is 30 minutes in duration for 4 days per week, excluding Mondays. The first session starts on June 26 and the last session will be on August 17. Times are 10 to 10:30, lower levels 10:45 to 11:15, 5:30 to 6:00, 6:15 to 6:45, depending on the age of the child. I'm advised that parents may want their children tested on the day of registration to determine what level they are at.
