Claremont Packing House Open House on Saturday

This Saturday, June 16, 2007, the Packing House in the newly expanded Claremont Village will hold it's grand opening celebration from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. It's been open for awhile, but the shindig is this weekend. The packing house used to pack lemons back in the day. Members of the community fought hard to preserve the old building and reuse it for shops. It looks quite nice from the outside. I've been meaning to go inside, so maybe Saturday. The Open House boasts free music and art demonstrations. btw, the Tessiers are the developers on this project.

Sounds like they've also got an independent book store inside the Packing House, as well as the Claremont Museum of Art (which has children's art, I believe too) . Pomona has an independent book store too, by the way. It's called Henry the IIX (did I do that right?) on the 200 block of 2nd Street in the Artist Colony.
