Rising Prices, Falling Fences in Lincoln Park
A few months back, one of Lincoln Park's Grande Dams (pictured above) sold for a whopping $625,000. While another house that is even more origional inside, is currently on the market for 650 K.
Once sold, the new owners of the one pictured promptly set out to build a large fence around the entire property. But with the usual ying/yang of life, two other fences erected in Lincoln Park since we have lived here were recently taken down: one in the 300 block of E. Jefferson (a white picket L shaped fence) and the other in the 200 block of E. Lincoln (a white vinyl number whose removal I am told was met with applause).
So here's a cheer for houses topping the 600 K mark in Lincoln Park!
THE END

Awesome to see Lincoln Park finally getting back to where it was. I don't ever remember the neighborhood looking as good as it does right now...everybody seems to be polishing their beautiful homes. Downtown Pomona is continuing to be renovated, and the night life is amazing.
That beautiful house on McKinley in your photo..... after suffering that awful fence.... now has the parkways all dirt bare and barren and the front lawn and lush ivy on the McKinley side of the street is being left to die? What is the PLAN for this house? First all the prizewinning historic camellia bushes were whacked down.... then the fence... now the dirt lawns????
Remember when this lovedly house LOOKED like this ?????
What house? I only see fence now. And stuff piling up in the back yard. For a time, there was a mercury light that would shine right in your eyes at night as you walked or drove by. At least the light is angled upward again to highlight the tree as it was intended and passersby are no longer blinded.
Now there's some double-triple fence construction going on in the back yard... and an above-ground jacuzzi??? Dog runs????? Looks bad from Garfield....and the whole front on McKinley seems to be dying...the potted junipers where the camelias were ripped out are dead.
I like the new fencing around the property. Looking forward to seeing what the new parking strips will be planted with. I never was a fan of the ivy and if you have dogs you need a fence.
