Pink Friday

Remember to wear pink on Friday in support of our Pomona and Claremont Unified teachers and staff.

Pomona Teachers and supporters will have a rally in front of the adminstration building at 800 S. Garey from 3 to 6 p.m. Claremont Teachers and friends will be holding their march in front of the Daily Bulletin headquarters in Ontario from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Here's an example of what's at stake: two of the existing four nurses at Claremont Unified have been targetted to be laid off. One of the four nurses works full time at Sumner Danbury School, which enables a large number of occupationally handicapped and severely disabled students to attend school with other kids in a traditional school environment. The loss of nurses in Claremont Unified could jeopardize these specials students' ability to attend school.

Feel free to post other consequences of the loss of funding below.

?????

I really hope they aren't looking for a job. Perhaps the Daily Bulletin staff should march in front of the Claremont School Board and ask the city to buy more papers.

OOOhhhh, Mr. Sarky strikes again ;-)

I think that it would be that the teachers are marching at the DB for publicity, but perhaps the DB personnel could march on the Schools to get better education? Then maybe we wouldn't see some of the odd typos and copy editing. Sorry to David and Monica. Just showing that Ed doesn't have a monopoly on snark.
