This Sunday, October 7, 2007, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. will be the Pomona Heritage Home Tour. Tickets can be bought ahead of time (see their website at my side bar for more info) or the day of the event in Lincoln Park. If you are not familiar with the Pomona area or are one of the Claremont-challenged, this is your opportunity to come see the ultra-liveable and uber-historic parts of Pomona. If you are a craftsman enthusiast like myself, or a lover of vintage mid century, then this tour is right up your alley. And even if you live in Pomona, this is your chance to get inside some of the more beautiful homes in the area.
This Sunday, October 7, 2007 is also the biggest yearly social event this side of the 57 freeway: Mr. Big's birthday. This party has been on again/off again for the past couple of weeks due to bad behavior, but right now it's a go.
We will be celebrating and giving thanks with Mr. Big's friends at the house. It's an outer space astronaut/alien theme. If I'm lucky, I'll be able to run around and do the home tour near the end of the day.
October is my favorite month in Pomona. In part, because we have trees that actually change colors here, and because harvest time and the lead up to Hawloween are such a big deal on our Lincoln Park Streets. Enjoy! THE END.
