Ok, so it's not the Hollywood Bowl, but Memorial Park in Claremont will be home this summer to the Children's Outdoor Music Concert Series.

This is the from the City of Claremont's website:

2007 Children's Concert Series
Wednesday Nights July 11th- August 1 @ 7 p.m.
Memorial Park, 840 Indian Hill Boulevard
Concerts are free and open to the public. For more information, call the Human Services Department at (909) 399-5490.

- July 11 Inland Valley Youth Chorale

- July 18 Paul Cash Environmental Magic Show- Paul Cash entertains with magic and humor while educating K-6 students with a science based show, which teaches and reinforces several California Science Standards. (Note from the Goddess of Pomona: Paul Cash is Mr. Big's favorite performer at the County Fair for the past two years. He is really worth the drive into our ugly stepsister Claremont.)

- July 25 Slouch in the Couch - Based on "The Slouch In The Couch" series of children's learning books, this "family oriented" band has written original music for children & adults. Recognized as the original "Rock n' Roll Band for all ages," the music is upbeat and fun that keep your toes a tappin'.

- August 1 Happy Crowd- The Happy Crowd has been writing and performing music for children and their families for over 14 years. Their songs are filled with positive energy and are sure to get the whole family singing, dancing and just plain "Havin' Fun"! The Happy Crowd members, Hai Muradian, Kenny McSpadden, & Professor "Smartie" Martie, present themes that educate, as well as entertain the audience.

Reminder:
Bring a picnic dinner--Bring blanket/low lawn chairs--No dogs in the Park.

I'll be posting more summer music (as it's literally going on in nearly every city around here) as I have time.

What about Pomona's concert series. I just received a flyer from Pomona Heritage about their annual picnic (this year at Palomares Adobe) which also had a flyer for the Ganesha Park concert by Pancho Sanchez on July 14 which also includes a car show.

There are also weekly concerts by the Pomona Concert Band on Thursdays in Ganesha Park.

Having previously been a regular at the Claremont concerts, I'm thinking we should switch to Pomona's concerts.

I mention the Claremont Children's concerts specifically, because they are geared towards kids. I'm making a post about the Pomona Concert Band performances above (it's Thursday nights until August 9). I did post about Poncho Sanchez, but I screwed up and posted it under June goings on in Pomona, so I'll repeat the announcement above.

thanks for the suggestions.
