And Finally...the L.A. County Fair

Seems like Mr. Big has been waiting forever, but it's finally time for the Los Angeles County Fair again. This Friday, September 8, 2006 is opening day and admission is $1! Last year we were in line before 11 a.m. and were among the first people into the fair. The lines were only about 20 deep and once we were inside, we basically had the fair to ourselves. Plus, it was overcast that day. Pretty darn perfect. So, we're going to repeat that again this year. To anyone out there reading this, come on down to the fair on Friday, even if it's after school. Friday is also considered "Pomona Day" at the fair, which means there are Pomona booths and various City of Pomona giveaways (last year we got a Pomona frisbee). Later that night, there's a Pomona-themed parade.

This year, the fair runs until October 1, so you have plenty of time to make it if you don't go on the opening day.

Go to the Fair's website for further info. And please post here if you hear about any special discounts available.

Yes, My boys have been almost frantic for "fair time" to come since the banners went up in early July! Do you want to carpool on Friday and split the parking cost?? When we lived closer we would go 4-5 times. This year I think we will only attend twice: opening/Pomona day, and Glendora day with DH (DS1 loves bagpipes and the GlendoraHS band includes pipers!)

yes, let's do that. but what will we do about car seats? as long as we figure that out, you should come over here between 10:30 and 10:45 and we'll go from there. WE go for the vip parking, in case of emergency if you know what I mean, but I'll pay the difference.
