To Fulfill a New Year's Resolution

Well, here's to 2007 being a great year for Pomona. 2006 seemed to still find us on the front page for all the wrong reasons (which for some reason usually entail tragedy and children). I hope to again be posting regularly on the blog, for all the reasons that I did so before.

On Saturday, February 3, 2007 at 1:00 PM, the Pomona Public Library at 625 South Garey Avenue wil be hosting the 40th Annual Gingerbread Sociable to celebrate all things Laura Ingalls Wilder. There will be period music, crafts, and, if you're up for it, costumes. The event is free and Gigi & Mike will be performing there. (www.gigiandmike.com) Definitely a unisex event. The Pomona Library boasts a huge Laura Ingalls Wilder collection, so this is one of those "only in Pomona" type of things.

There was a high speed chase here in Lincoln Park yesterday, there's snow on the mountains and it's cold as all heck here in my little house on the Pomona.
