POMONA - Cool weather, hot chocolate and holiday tunes will be part of Monday night's Holiday Prelude, Pomona's annual tree lighting celebration.
It is a free two-hour event that begins at 5 p.m in the Civic Center, 505 S. Garey Ave.
The festivities kick off with a performance by the Roosevelt Elementary School Glee Club, said Drexel Cross, recreation supervisor with the city's Community Services Department.
At about 5:45 p.m., after Santa and Mrs. Claus arrive, the city's Christmas tree will be lighted.
Members of the Diamond Ranch High Stylus Singers will perform at 6 p.m. Closing the evening will be the Ganesha High Chorus at 6:30 p.m.
Free hot chocolate, hot apple cider and cookies will be part of the evening.
