Swimming Lessons at Ganesha Park

I'm a little tardy on this one, as registration opened last Sunday and the first session has already started, but there's still plenty of time to register for the remaining 4 sessions. The City of Pomona offers $35 swim lessons, running from Monday to Thursday for two week periods. Lessons are at the Ganesha Park Swim Complex at 1575 N. White Ave. in Pomona, (909) 620-2304.

According to my handy dandy Community Services flyer, the next sessions begin on 7-10, 7-24, 8-7 and 8-21. They offer a Parent/Tot class designed for children 6 months to 2 years which "allows parents to interact and learn the proper skills to teach their children at home while in the tub or pool. Parents and tots will learn songs that can be associated with the different skills." They also offer a level 1 class for children ages 3 to 5 years old which "teaches beginning skills such as water entry, submerging their faces and blowing bubbles, floating on the back, beginning arm action and kick while on front and back, all while singing songs and having fun." Placement for advanced levels 2 through 6 is "based on skills."

Lesson times are from 10 to 10:30 a.m., 10:45 to 11:15 a.m., 5:30 to 6:00 p.m. or 6:15 to 6:45 p.m., although the Parent/Tot class is only offered at 10:45 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. and level 2 not offered at 5:30 p.m.

Where are other local swim lessons offered? I haven't heard good things about the local Y's pool situation, which is why I didn't include information here.
